"Pod with Tree and Three Eggs" is a mixed media work on paper by Cuban artist Connie Lloveras, measuring 30" x 22", completed in 2012.
In Connie's work, human figures, birds, and boats are often placed amidst a series of unrelated images to jar the spectator's imagination. Abstract concepts such as birth and renewal become as palpable as seeds and eggs. Boats allude to journeys, silhouettes become cups or vessels, and nests become traveling containers. By placing these forms — stripped of their literal references — within the same composition, the viewer is invited to use their own thought process to complete the rendering.
