Trazo #2 is an oil on canvas executed in 2004 by Fr. Miguel Loredo. The work measures 48" x 36", signed in the back and unframed.  Fr. Miguel Loredo was a true renaissance man.  He was a Franciscan friar, a writer, poet, painter, and human rights activist. (b 1938, d 2011).  He studied theology in Rome where he received his License in Theology in 1987, shortly after he began collaborating with the International Commission for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland.  In 1991 he was assigned to a Franciscan friary in NYC, St. Francis of Assisi on West 31st St.

Fr. Miguel is an accomplished painter. As a painter he is internationally recognized and has had many personal and group exhibits in the United States and abroad. He executed a large triptych for the friary in St Petersburg which greets visitors as soon as they enter the main entrance. Entitled "Zoomorphic Images" and painted in the tradition of Lyrical Abstractionism, the triptych alludes to aquatic creatures common to the St. Petersburg waterfront parks on Tampa Bay.
