Jose Bedia is a Cuban American Artist born in Cuba. He studied at San Alejandro Academy and at the Instituto Superior de Arte.

He is a pioneer of the radical transformation of Cuban Art that came about with the well known Exhibition Volume 1. He has a personal and professional passion for Amerindian studies which complement his anthropological knowledge on afro-transatlantic cultures. His work focuses on ideas of spirituality and indigenous cultures.

His work is in many public and private collections including the Museum of Modern Art in NY, The whitney Museum of American Art and the Guggenheim Museum of Art in NY.
